Gebang Temple Gebang Temple is a Hindu temple that has fairly old age in Yogyakarta. It's background of establishing, a blend of Buddha-Hindu temple, however, has remained a mystery. Gebang temple is located in the west side of Maguwoharjo Stadium, discovered in 1936. It's start when local people found Ganesha statue then dredging temple yard. At first the temple condition is very poor, so that in 1937 carried out the restoration by the year 1939 by Dutch scientist Prof. Dr. Ir. Van Romondt. A Ganesha enchased on its architecture. This temple has several peculiar features that can't find on other Hindu's temple; such as peak of the temple is formed "Lingga" stand over "Seroja" flower. The Ganesha statue inside the chamber sat over "Yoni".
